Star Wars: Visions S2 | Review | Axat

The first Vision is a riot of colors, painting styles and action, by El Guiri Studios - reminded me of Ghibli Studios, my first post on stck.me! Here:

My next post about Studio Ghibli classified films according to type:

The second episode of the second season of Star Wars: Visions is a nice children's story about overcoming your inner fears, by Cartoon Saloon.

The third is about environmentalism and man-made climate change, which we are experiencing right now, already, in my 4 decades' life. It is sightly predictable like a video game mission to obtain clean water, and of course the sisters are going to channel the Light Force as the deus ex machina! A very relevant story for today's climate by Punkrobot Studios.

The fourth has two underlying themes - social strata discrimination and mother-daughter relationships. It's a nice light feel-good comeuppance stop-motion looking animation short by Aardman Studios - SHOUTOUT!

The fifth is by Studio Mir. It begins with clairvoyance. I always say, "the past is history, the future is a mystery." Fortune-telling has been a spell-binding preoccupation for humanity ever since we realized our need for an illusion of control over the future, no matter how tenacious we feel.

In reality, we have zero control over the future. I guess the Japanese have quite a lot of experience by virtue of being on the Ring of Fire. Reminds me about Fire of Love. You know me - I am THE digressor extraordinaire. I love to go off on tangent spirals about what reminded me of whom and how I got to where I was when any such spirals began.

For example, here, Mir led to thoughts of space exploration > SpaceX > Staship exploding > my video [and playlist] about human spaceflight:

You'll be entertained by the various weapons I deploy from my arsenal.

ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? Russell Crowe's GLADIATOR MAXIMUS.

The sixth one is by Studio La Cachette. Is that French for the cassette? No. It means a hiding place. The episode is named The Spy Dancer. Fits.

I guess 'cache' is a derivative of this word. Y'know, cache memory in our phones and stuff? I've done Electronics Engineering, but I hate calculus!

I liked the episode; basic animation compared to the others, yet very fluid, totally fitting the dancing theme. Plus, there's a twist in the story.

Episode 7 is by 88 Pictures. Reminds me of 47 Ronin with Keanu Reeves.

HOLY MOLY THIS ONE IS SET IN RAJASTHAN! Cue diatribe on Dahaad and Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo - 2 female-led OTT series on Disney+ & AP.

You might say, why is Axat giving a review of Hindi/Rajasthani shows while wearing a Star Wars shirt? Dudes and dudettes, there should be no discrimination when it comes to cultural exchange of ideas, yeah?

This is good. I can record separate things on my 2 small cameras while I livestream like this; after all, my livestreams are just impromptu videos!

Ok, getting back to Visions, I'm going to dig a little deeper into Episode 7.

That's because it is set in the biggest Indian (desert) state of Rajasthan.

The usual Indian motifs are there - crowded and slightly downtrodden public transport - a train in this case, outback bandits in the desert, a congested stall-lined bazaar bursting to the brim with bright colors, and finally a feast with food that is fiery to look at as well as to consume. LOL.

I like the cast since I know [not in the "personally know" way, more in the H2G2 "sass [be aware of]" way. The major names are Suraj Sharma, whose life as an actor started just because his brother was auditioning for the lead role in Life of Pi. Spirals can elevate us to unnerving heights.

Lilette Dubey & Neeraj Kabi are the veteran Hindi actors in the episode.

I love how Indian culture has become mainstream enough for Star Wars.

Episode 8 is a collab between Lucasfilm D'art Shtajio...intriguing name!

It is named The Pit, but I feel the motto that they chant should've been it.

'Follow the light' has a nice ring to it; LotR fans know what I mean, yeah?

Episode 9 is by Triggerfish. It is the last episode of this season of Visions.

It's a cute episode, showing an inverse proportion between size & power.

I think I'll begin watching Season 1 to keep it in my Continue Watching.

That's it for now, thank you for reading, watching, and subscribing LOL!
