The Bad Batch [Star Wars: The Clone Wars Spin-off] Episode 10 - Review - Common Ground

Hello, fellow Star Warriors! Greetings from the Dark Side! I just watched another awesomax episode of The Bad Batch! Right from the start, it was different from the previous 9 episodes.

First of all, in this episode called Common Ground, the evil Empire is forming a Confederacy of Independent Systems. Short form - CIS. You know what CIS is IRL? The Commonwealth of Independent States, headed by Russia and a result of the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991!

But in this Star Wars short story, the mustachioed senator leading Raxus, the state where it begins, is named Avi Singh. So India is now part of the canon human species in Star Wars!

He defies the Empire and is arrested, but his droid enacts their contingency plan with an SOS.

And then we catch up with our beloved batch fry-up of Hunter, Wrecker, Tech and Echo, who are keeping Omega safe. I love how Dee Bradley Baker voices the whole Bad Batch, including Crosshair who has been mind-controlled against our heroes. Michelle Ang, another lovely New Zealander after Taika Waititi, voices Omega, the chirpy clone kiddie who is being bounty hunted.

They are soon parted, however, because Cid, the slithery Trandoshan, sends The Bad Batch to rescue Avi Singh on Raxus. I love how Star Wars stories progress like video games; it’s like I’m watching a Let’s Play video. Also, I loved it in the Mandalorian that there were mostly red and white buttons on the futuristic consoles. That same design aesthetic is used in the Bad Batch.

Omega shows off her strategic skills in the holographic game unique to Star Wars, Dejarik. As can be expected, by the time the Bad Batch “Get Back” like the Beatles said she’s Sid’s WWCD!

Next time - Emmy Winners Rhea Perlman [Cheers] and Archie Panjabi [The Good Wife, Life on Mars, and the super awesomax Keira Knightley breakthrough movie, Bend it like Beckham].

So set your gun to stun and share your thoughts about the Light and the Dark side of the Force! May the Force keep you and your loved ones safe.
